Meet Danielle

IMG_6770_E_E_ColorHello! My name is Danielle Dupell and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist and owner of Avenue Acupuncture in Plattsburgh, NY. I received my training from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY. There I underwent intense training to receive both a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture (MSA) and a Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM). I’ve had the opportunity to study in both the United States and China at the Zhejiang University Hospital in Hangzhou. I received my undergraduate training in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.

The previous purpose of this blog was intended to show the trials and tribulations of Acupuncture School. Now that I am a business owner and off into great unknown of real life, this blog is kind of a mish-mash, hodge-podge of things. Here I will be posting about Chinese medicine related events, research, and general info!

I came up with the name “Acupuncture Flow” because, like Yin and Yang, life tends to have its ebbs and flows. What’s that famous saying?… “It’s good to have an end to journey toward; but it’s the journey that matters, in the end.”

    Hi Danielle!
FLSAOM shared your blog posts about the school’s trip to China on its Facebook page and I couldn’t help but read it. I am about to enter into the acupuncture program there this September! I am kind of scared to death, haha. I’ll be 5 and a half hours away from my hometown, family, and partner. I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in May with a Bachelor’s in English Studies (Lit & Writing) and a minor in French. I am so nervous that I won’t be able to absorb ALL of the deep, complex information or that I’ll be so overwhelmed with studying that I won’t be able to nurture my relationships with people back home. I guess I just felt inspired and awed by your posts about your practical exams and your trip to China and wanted to make contact with you. Do you have any words of wisdom? Haha. Thanks for listening!

    • Aw Hannah! Thanks so much for reaching out! 🙂 You are about to enter an amazing journey. I would never lie to you and tell you it’s going to be easy. All I can say is that it will be very rewarding! School is only temporary – all your family who love and support you will need to know that! Don’t worry yet – you should enjoy your last few weeks off! I will be at your orientation so we can chat more then! Thanks for reading – I am going to be posting more about the trip in the next few weeks! Take care. -Danielle

I’m a first tri at FLSAOM. Thanks for keeping your blog up. Do you have any books or notes that you no longer use that you wouldn’t mind passing down?
